I can easily be accused of always seeking the adventurous and adrenaline based experiences. However, I’ve come to realize that there needs to be a balance in life. Yoga is one of my balancing activities that I’m trying to do more often. I enjoy the grounding feeling that you get throughout a class or while doing a solo practice. Yoga Barn is tucked away in Ubud, Bali. Getting there is easy to get to by motorbike and they have 2 different parking locations. The building looks like a 2-story tropical tree house tucked into an area with live trees/plants, great decorations, and a fantastic vibe. The class was superb. The instructor kept the flow moving very fluidly and still helped explain certain positions or corrections without any hiccups in the class. I enjoyed it so much that a 2nd class was needed the next day. The facility itself had showers and lockers for all the customers. It is located directly next to Garden Kafe, which has fresh coconuts, smoothies and great snack food to refuel after a long yoga practice. I was told that there are guest houses you can stay at and they do yoga retreat programs as well. With my great experience there, which I feel was different and more authentic that any other yoga studio I’ve been to, I would be interested in a retreat at the Yoga Barn. With no shortage of yoga opportunities in Bali, this is at the top of my list for recommendations to my Yogis out there.
